Location/Infrastructure Scientific station of Irkutsk State University, Tunka Valley ( 50 km from the lake Baikal)
Funding agencies Russian Ministry of Education and Science, RFBR(Russia), DFG (Germany), INFN(Italy)
Scientific goals Origin of Galactic cosmic rays
Design 133 Cherenkov detectors on the base of 20cm diameter PMT combined in 19 clusters (7 PMT each) on the area 1 km2 , 4 water Auger like tanks, 19 scintillator detectors ( 1 m2 )
Present status (R&D, construction, data taking, closed) Construction, data taking with old Tunka-25 array and 2 water ranks.
Most relevant results Energy spectrum and mass composition of cosmic rays from 5*1015 to 5*1016 eV
Perspective:
200 PMT, 2 water tanks, optical cable(12 km) and components for the firsts clusters. Predecessor was Tunka-25 array mo merging
Which relevant results are expected, and when Enegy spectrum with high resoulution up to 1018 eV.
